The Matthew Hackney Foundation

About the Foundation

The foundation was inaugurated following the tragic passing of Matthew, the day before his 13th birthday, of Asthma, brought on by a severe allergic reaction or 'anaphylaxis'.

Matt's short life was filled with complications; Asthma, allergies, Rheumatoid arthritis to name but a few, none of which dampened his love for life and spirit in fulfilling everything to his utmost potential.

Always keen to help others in need, he enjoyed fund raising along with the community spirit that his local neighborhood 'Byfleet' gave him. A keen supporter of Byfleet parish day, of local organisations, teams and events as well as a huge pride in his nation.
